The Sixteenth Entry

“What are the stars like?” Asked the Son.

I said nothing, each step taking us further and deeper into the collapsed building. The tunnel was in disrepair but intact, the chunks of marble and steel seeming to have secured themselves in the collapse.

The Son’s eyes lit the way, a gleefully bright yellow shining against the walls and stairs. His adult form betrayed his almost child-like demeanor.

“You must have traveled so far, seen so much! I’ve always wanted to travel…” The Son’s voice trailed in defeat at his own inability.

In his questioning, the Son’s eyes rolled over many of the sand-filled metal walls. Depictions of cities and people, bright skies, and pictures of families littered the walls. Some were literal, stapled to the walls next to a language I did not recognize, others drawn – perhaps by the Son.

This was a refuge for those who once inhabited this world – now either a home, or a tomb.

At the end of the stairs was a lobby full of more pictures, some drawn and some literal as before. The pictures surrounded a pair of glass doors, which the Son led me through. Beyond, a long corridor. The corridor was lined in more photos, however, as we got closer to the end of the corridor, and to another set of wooden doors, the photos became drawings, the drawings then became a mess of lines in black soot that surrounded the doors.

The Son opened the doors and we proceeded beyond.

Through the doors was a small room, though the room appeared only such due to the collapsed debris that made up its far wall. Perhaps once a grand room lie beyond the doors, now only a hovel.

A fire surrounded by cut stones illuminated the room, and around the fire were two other android humanoids - a woman and a man. Age wore at their limbs and faces, as if mimicking aging flesh. They stood at our entry, the female android taking up a staff of darkened metal, perhaps taken from the debris.

The androids walked forward, the female taking center and the male taking the left flank. The Son walked forward and took position beside the female on the right flank, a grin passing over the female as the Son stood beside her.

“I am called The Scion Mother.” The Mother said.

“And I The Father,” The Father said and continued, “Mother has been expecting you.”

“I am Axiom, Dark Lord of the Obelisk.” I said.

The Mother’s yellow eyes lit brightly at my words, smiling and bearing her human like teeth.

“Then you are the one I was expecting.” The Mother said, her voice almost humming. “Lord Axiom, you have had a vision?”

“Yes, I seek clues, and a soul revealed to me this planet and the word Seer.” I responded.

The Father looked at The Mother who stared at me intently, leaning on her staff.

“I have been expecting you, expecting you to answer some of your questions. However, in order to answer them – may I look upon you? Your soul may answer your questions.” The Mother said.

“My soul?”

“Yes, there is something I wish to confirm.”

I looked upon the Mother, feeling no ill intent, I nodded in agreement. The Mother walked forward and stared at the red gem resting in the chest of my armor.

“My goodness. You really are…” The Mother said, her voice catching and her yellow eyes widening.

The Mother stepped back and the Father looked at her.

“Then the plan?” The Father asked.

The Mother nodded.

“Please, come sit with us. There is much to discuss.” The Mother gestured towards the fire and walked over, sitting upon one of the metal chunks.

The Son and Father did the same, and I sat down closest to the door.

The Mother looked out over the fire and upon me.

“Seer is not just a word. It is a being. The Seer is the one you seek, the end to all your questions.” The Mother began.
